Position Papers
A short, well-researched position paper is the foundation of a strong committee performance.
What is a position paper?
A position paper summarizes your country’s (or character’s) stance on each committee topic and outlines the solutions you intend to champion. Writing one forces you to organize your research and walk into committee with a clear plan.
What to include
- Background of the topic and why it matters
- Your country’s policy and past actions on the issue
- Specific solutions and proposals you support
- Potential allies and the blocs you hope to build
Formatting & submission
Specific length, formatting, and deadline requirements — along with award eligibility — will be confirmed ahead of the conference.
